1 Kings 11:10-12

¹⁰ and who had given him a command concerning this very thing, that he not follow after other gods, but he did not observe what the Lord had commanded. ¹¹ Therefore, the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you have done this and you have not observed my covenant and my statutes that I had given to you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

¹² “Nevertheless, I will not do this during your days, for the sake of David, your father. I will tear it out of the hands of your son.
